New York's Weird And Wonderful Restaurants

New York is a fantastic city for shopping and what better way to end a shopping spree than with a bite to eat with friends so you can discuss all your fashion purchases! Although you don"t want to go to any old restaurant! I"ve put together a mini guide on some of New York"s weird and wonderful restaurants that are a definite must! The first on the list is a 1950s themed diner called Ellen"s Stardust Diner. This diner contains lots of 50s memorabilia as well as showing 50s movies on "drive through" cinema screens! But the unique thing about this restaurant is its waitresses who will sing old classics from that era while you indulge into a classic hamburger and chips - great for a girl"s night out! The second place to try is Lips; this is defiantly somewhere to go if you want a dining experience to remember! At Lips you can expect a quality meal with a difference; the difference is that you are also treated to a live show where the Lips Divas (drag queens) impersonate other divas including Britney Spears! The show really is great entertainment and involves the guests joining in with the singing and dancing - perfect for a hen party! The third and possibly most unusual restaurant is called Duvet where the chairs and tables are replaced by beds! The restaurant holds about 30 large beds, which are covered in Italian sheets and have silk curtains draped from the top. You are even given a pair of slippers to wear while enjoying your modern cuisine! The forth restaurant is not unusual in its interior; the shock comes from the price of the food! Mesa is a Japanese restaurant owned by Chef Mesa who has won a number of different awards including 3 Michelin Stars! He has created this restaurant concept into a full dining experience where everything matters from what you can hear, see and obviously taste! The menus are set and the prices range from $400 - $600! - Definitely one to visit after a lottery wins!   www.localrestaurantdirect.com
